Public information event on the finds of human remains on the grounds of Freie Universität Berlin, February 23, 2021 at 3 p.m.

News from Feb 08, 2021

In 2014, human skeletal remains and bone fragments were found during construction work on the grounds of the University Library of Freie Universität Berlin in the vicinity of the former Kaiser Wilhelm Institute for Anthropology, Human Heredity, and Eugenics (KWI-A). This initiated the cooperation of Freie Universität Berlin with the Max Planck Society and the Berlin State Office for the Protection of Monuments and prompted the archaeological excavation carried out in 2015 and 2016.

The discovered human bones were scientifically examined; the investigations have since been completed. In order to present the findings of the investigations and the further handling of the human bones, a public information event will be held on February 23, 2021 at 15:00 in a digital format. More information and the registration link can be found here.
