Roundtable Recording "Anti-Gender, Diversity and the Democratic University"

How can we make sense of the current attacks on universities and critical knowledge production across different regional contexts? And what strategies can be employed to meet these challenges?

To address these questions, Dr. Daniel Schumann and Prof. Kathrin Zippel, PhD convened an online roundtable on "Anti-Gender, Diversity and the Democratic University: Epistemic Struggles and Infrastructures" as part of the Annual Conference 2026 of the Centre for Global Higher Education at the University of Oxford.

The recording of the roundtable is now available on YouTube.

The short inputs by Dr. Marina Cino Pagliarello, Prof. Dr. Julian Hamann, Prof. Dr. Emanuela Lombardo, Dr. Daniel Schumann, Dr. Didem Ünal, and Prof. Dr. Kathrin Zippel examined anti-democratic tendencies in higher education in the United States, Turkey, and the European Union.
