I am a Dutch journalist, radio producer, and podcaster currently working for the Dutch public broadcaster VPRO. I cover cultural and political themes and have a special interest in Germany.

During the EJF, I want to delve into the German discourse around immigration at a time of rising anti-immigration sentiment—fueled by the far-right—but also a time in which the population is aging and migration is more necessary than ever. How are the differences between “good” and “bad” immigration constructed politically? And what impact does this have on those moving to Germany?

More generally, I also hope to deepen my understanding of Germany—my mother’s home country—while living and working in Berlin.
