Topic: The Press and Political Parties in the Weimarer Republic

The Weimar Republic (1918–1933) was marked by a vibrant and highly politicised press. Political parties used newspapers and other media to shape public opinion, promote their ideas, and mobilise supporters. At the same time, many newspapers were closely connected to particular political movements, making the press a central arena of political debate and conflict.

This presentation explores the relationship between the press and political parties during the Weimar Republic and examines the ways in which the media became an important instrument of political communication and conflict.

Speaker: Martin Rutsch
