This journal edition is a result of the FFU-TERI student exchange program, which has been funded by the DAAD and organized within the context of the German-Indian Sustainability and Climate Change Dialogue (GISCCD). Students in the MA programme "Public and Private Environmental Management" at Freie Universität Berlin and students from TERI University authored articles on environmental policy in India: Yvonne Dinter, Alex Lloyd, Alexandra Skinner, Philip Strothmann: The Challenges of E-Waste Management in India: Can India draw lessons from the EU and the USA? Marius Ferdin, Stefan Görlitz and Steffen Schwörer: Water Stress in the Cauvery Basin, South India – How current water management approaches and allocation conflict constrain reform. Gopal Sarangi: Towards a Public-Private Partnership Regime: An Analysis of Water-supply Systems in Urban India. Kirsten Jörgensen (FFU) and Christian Wagner (SWP) were guest editors of the edition's central topic, "Environmental Policy in India", and also authored the editorial.
