Jamie Pring is a visiting post-doctoral researcher at the Center on Transnational Relations, Foreign and Security Policy at the Otto Suhr Institute for Political Science at Freie Universität Berlin. Supported by the Swiss National Science Foundation, she is conducting a comparative study of regional conflict prevention institutions in the Global South. Her Ph.D. at the University of Basel examines the promotion of inclusivity in the mediation process led by the Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD) in South Sudan from 2013 to 2015. She obtained her Master’s degree in International Affairs from the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies in Geneva and her Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from the University of the Philippines. She worked for various peace research and policy institutions such as swisspeace and the Centre for Conflict, Development, and Peacebuilding at the Graduate Institute, among others, as well as served as a research officer for the Philippine Department of National Defense. Her research topics include norm diffusion, regional organizations, and international conflict resolution.
