Dimitris Soudias is a PhD candidate at the Center for Middle Eastern and North African Politics at Freie Universität Berlin. His research interests are social movement theory, sociology of space, securization studies and new methods in qualitative research. Among his most recent publications are with Mareike Transfeld “Public Perceptions of the Security Sector and Police Work in Yemen” (YPC Policy Report, Sana’a: Yemen Polling Center, forthcoming 2013) and “Negotiating Space – The Evolution of the Egyptian Street: 2000-2012” (Cairo: The American University in Cairo Press, forthcoming 2013).
