Lebanon‘s political order and the regional context by Prof. Imad Salamey

The lecture examines how Lebanon’s consociational political system has evolved under the pressures of regional conflicts, shifting alliances, and changing balances of power in the Middle East. It explores the interaction between domestic sectarian governance, state sovereignty, and the influence of regional and international actors on Lebanon’s political stability and institutional resilience. The discussion also addresses emerging regional transformations and their implications for Lebanon’s political order, reform prospects, and pathways.
