Ricarda Ameling is a PhD candidate and research associate at the CRC “Affective Societies”, FU Berlin, working on affect and emotion within the context of authoritarian transformations in Egypt after 2011. She studied Islamic Studies and Political Science at FU Berlin and the American University in Cairo. Her research interests include contemporary political and cultural transformations in the MENA region, nationalism, Gender, Postcolonial Theory as well as Critical Theory. She gained work experiences in Think Tanks and International Organizations focusing on Migration as well as Peace and Development Work.
