Dressing the Self
PhD Candidate: Henrike Kraul
Supervisor: Prof. Dr. Claudia Liebelt
This project explores the meaning of visibility in relation to bisexuality, and queerness in a wider sense. It asks, ‘what might it look like to become visible as a bisexual person?’ and, ‘how do different modes of visibility matter in the formation of the sexual and gendered self?’ Based on ethnographic fieldwork in Copenhagen, Denmark, the project explores queer visibility politics, (homo)normativity in the Danish context, and investigates clothing practices as embodied negotiations of the sexual self.
Project Period: 2022-2027
