The Institute of Social and Cultural Anthropology contributes to the following research and teaching programs that have received funding in the framework of the Excellence Initiative:

• Cluster of Excellence Languages of Emotion
• Berlin Graduate School Muslim Cultures and Societies
• Graduate School of East Asian Studies

 

The Excellence Initiative was run by the German Research Foundation (DFG) and the German Council of Science and Humanities (Wissenschaftsrat) and allocated its funding based on two rounds of competition in 2006/2007 and 2012.
