Dr. David Schieferdecker and Prof. Dr. Thorsten Faas were granted a corona-related research project by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF): RAPID-COVID ("Receiving and Accepting Public Information Despite Polarization: Key to Overcoming COVID"). They will conduct the project as a collaboration between the Institute for Media and Communication Studies and the Otto Suhr Institute of Political Science.

The project's focus is the information landscape during the global pandemic. Based on a three-wave online panel survey with integrated survey experiments, the following questions will be addressed: Do citizens receive the necessary information on the COVID-19 pandemic? Do the feel well and sufficiently informed? What differences in the level of information are there between different segments of the population and what can be done about it? How do citizens process the information they receive? And finally: To what extent is the level of information related to the acceptance of measures to contain the pandemic?
