Lukas Benedikt Hoffmann, research assistant and doctoral candidate at the Division Media Use Research, has recently been awarded for exceptional academic performance with distinction during his studies in the research master degree programme Communication Science at the University of Amsterdam. In his final thesis he examined the mass media portrayal of Ukrainian and Syrian refugees in Germany, the UK, Spain and Switzerland.
