Malika Bouziane
Malika Bouziane is a PhD candidate at the Center for Middle Eastern and North African Politics and Research Associate at the Collaborative Research Center 700 “Governance in Areas of Limited Statehood: New Modes of Governance?” at Freie Universität Berlin. Her research mainly focuses on local politics and informal practices and institutions as well as new political and social movements in Jordan, and transformation of statehood and state-society relations. Her most recent publications are an article with Katharina Lenner on “Jenseits ‘monarchischer Stabilität’: Jordanien in Bewegung.” (in: Annette Jünemann/ Anja Zorob (eds.): Arabellions. Zur Vielfalt von Protest und Revolte im Nahen Osten und Nordafrika, Wiesbaden, 2013.) and a book chapter on “Negotiating Informal Institutional Change: Understanding Local Politics in Jordan” (in: Bouziane, Malika; Harders, Cilja and Anja Hoffmann (eds.): Local Politics and Contemporary Transformation in the Arab World – Governance Beyond the Center.
