Dr. Amal Hamada

Dr. Amal Hamada is an Assistant Professor for Political Science at the Faculty of Economics and Political Sciences (FEPS) at Cairo University. Her research interests include the history and developments of the Iranian Political System, bloggers in the Middle East as a force of social movements with a special emphasis on Egypt and Iran as well as social media and political change. Her most recent academic work includes “The armed forces and the deconstruction of the deep state: a case study of Egypt” (a paper presented to colloquium armees.revolutionsarabes.st-cur.terre-net.defense.gov.fr., 2013) and the article “Deep State and Strong State” (in: International politics, Al- Ahram, July 2012).
