Aron has studied political science, economics and sociology at the Universities of Tübingen (Magister Artium) and was an exchange student at the Moscow State Institute of International Relations (MGIMO) and the University of Helsinki, Finland. He also holds a Master degree in "Peace and Security Studies" from the University of Hamburg. He defended his doctoral dissertation («summa cum laude») at the Freie Universität Berlin in June 2012.
