At the COP30 World Climate Summit in Belém in November 2025, negotiations dealt with reducing global greenhouse gas emissions and providing financial aid to poorer countries. However, reality shows that global greenhouse gas emissions continue to rise and significantly less financial aid is flowing than originally promised by industrialized nations. Prof. Dr. Partzsch says in an interview on November 20, 2025, that although forms of multilateral cooperation such as climate summits are relevant, they have to be supplemented by alternatives such as effective supply chain laws, which are currently the subject of heated debate in the EU.
