The research unit Empirical Social Structure Analysis and Survey Methodology is dedicated to advancing our understanding of societal dynamics at both micro and macro levels through rigorous empirical research using cutting-edge survey methodologies. Core research areas include: (1) examining the impact of objective and subjective social inequalities on individuals' behaviour and political attitudes; (2) scrutinizing how justice norms are shaped and used to rationalize the distribution of goods and burdens in contemporary societies; (3) investigating hard-to-reach populations, such as migrants and refugees, in longitudinal survey projects.
