Subjects belonging to the study programmes offered by the department include all subjects by the institutes of the department (Otto-Suhr Institute for Political Science, Institute for Media and Communication Studies, Institute for Ethnological Studies, Institute for Sociology) as well as the Central Institutes (Latin American Institute, Eastern European Institute, John F. Kennedy Institute for North American studies).
