KFG Working Paper No. 42 "The Holy Trinity of Democracy, Economic Development, and Security. EU Democratization Efforts Beyond its Borders - The Case of Tunisia" has been published.
Within the paper, the author Assem Dandashly researches the reasons for and potentials of the EU to get more involved in Tunisia’s democratic transition towards a consolidated democracy with a functioning market economy. He argues that supporting democracy is a necessary condition for guaranteeing stable and secure southern borders and, furthermore, that economic growth is a necessary condition for consolidating democracy and political reforms in Tunisia.
