The Research Group Gender Studies is led by Prof. Kathrin Zippel, PhD. We focus on science, organizations and policies by taking an intersectional, transnational and comparative approach. Current research and teaching efforts in the research group examine developments on gender equality and diversity as central commitments of democratic societies. The analysis targets potential ambivalences and tensions as well as resistances. A key area of interest is why and how (progressive) change has been difficult, and how differences across national and institutional contexts can help explain these dynamics.
Zippel’s professorship has been established with the support of the Einstein Foundation Berlin in the Einstein Strategic Professorship Program.
