Welcome to the Instiute of Social and Cultural Anthropology
Through its degree programs B.A. and M.A. Social and Cultural Anthropology, the Institute offers students excellent university-level training grounded in current debates within the discipline and topics of contemporary global concern. On the following pages, you can learn more about the members of our faculty and their thematic and regional areas of interest and expertise, as well as the four research areas—Anthropology of Emotion, Medical Anthropology | Global Health, STS/Environmental Anthropology and "Gender, Bodies, Sexualities" — that, together with our collaboration with the SFB 1171 "Affective Societies" and the Anthropology of Religion, represent the overarching research emphases of our institute.
