Event „Weizenbaum-Forum Special: Media and War – Online Journalism During Russia’s Invasion of Ukraine“
News from Apr 25, 2022
26th of April 2022 | 6.00 – 7.30 pm | Online-Event
What are the main challenges for Ukrainian journalists covering the war in their country? How does the Kremlin’s propaganda machine work within and outside Russia? How do independent Russian media outlets that have been shut down manage to continue their work in exile? What strategies are the most successful against the dissemination of false information during a war and can quality journalism be a remedy for this sort of propaganda?
To discuss this and further questions Anna Litvinenko (Ph.D. Freie Universität Berlin), Daria Orlova (Ph.D. Kyiv Mohyla Academy) and Marian Vogel (part of the NPO Media in Cooperation and Transition) are invited. Christoph Neuberger (Managing Director of the Weizenbaum Institute) takes over the moderation.
The registration for the event is requested by 12 pm on 26th of April.
