Division Digitalisierung und Partizipation

The new division, which was established in October 2019, is dedicated to research and teaching on the digitalization of media, the public and journalism. The core issues are the enhanced opportunities for citizens to participate in public communication on the Internet and the role of intermediaries such as journalism and digital platforms. Other research topics include platform governance, the role of social media in various socio-political contexts, media agenda-setting and the acceleration of public communication.
