An Online Survey for the Deutscher Fachjournalisten-Verband (German Journalists' Federation)
This survey aims to investigate the current professional situation of German political journalists. We focus on typical concerns of journalism research: Who are political journalists? Where and how do they work? Which topics are they working on? What are their attitudes? With this, it is possible to update existing data and to draw a distinction between the different departments.
Additionally, two other concerns are included: First, how does the aftermath of the financial and media crisis alongside a general tendency of commodification and commercialization of journalism affect their daily work? Second, what kind of structural changes are they facing in the production process due to digitalization?
