Thomas Risse attended a workshop on „The Power of Human Rights – Ten Years After“ at the University of Wyoming in Laramine, WY/USA. Subject of the gathering was to discuss the progress of research on International Human Rights ten years after the publication of the book „The Power of Human Rights“ (ed. Thomas Risse, Stephen Ropp, Kathryn Sikkink, Cambridge UP 1999). Among others, participants were Kathryn Sikkink (U Minnesota), Beth Simmons (Harvard), Ryan Goodman (New York University), Marty Finnemore (George Washington U), Nicole Deitelhoff (HSFK) und Klaus Dieter Wolf (HSFK).

"WYOMING (wpr) - Two conferences on international relations take place this weekend at the University of Wyoming. One focuses on transatlantic relations and the other on human rights. Thomas Risse helped organize the latter... he's a scholar of human rights based at the Free University of Berlin, in Germany. Risse is a former professor at U-W and, as of last year, a part-time resident of Centennial, Wyoming. Before he was a professor, he worked for Amnesty International.
