JMCE's strategic partner the Centre for European Studies at European University St. Petersburg is organizing its fifth Summer School for Postgraduate Students in July 2011. For the third time JMCE academic member Prof.Dr. Thomas Risse and academic director Prof.Dr. Tanja Börzel are particpating as lecturers.
The main idea behind the organization of the Summer School is to attract the attention of the PhD students from Russia, Finland and Germany to the new methodological and theoretical approaches towards the European Union studies and to show how they can be used while analyzing Russian and European politics and policies. The School covers a whole range of issues such as new methodological approaches towards studying European politics and governance, new theoretical concepts for researching on European identity and European societies, etc.
The School programme includes lectures by Russian and German professors and methodological discussion groups when the participants present their PhD projects and critically analyze them together with the colleagues and professors.
The Russian, Finnish and German PhD students in social sciences interested in the developments in European studies are welcome to participate in the competition.
