„Globale Demokratie“ (engl. Global Democracy) by Albert Denk
On September 4th, 2025, Dr. Albert Denk's new non-fiction book “Global Democracy: Why Global Problems Require a New Form of Political Cooperation” will be published by oekom Verlag.
News from Sep 04, 2025
This book demonstrates why global issues are almost impossible to resolve within a framework of individual national interests, and proposes an ambitious alternative. Denk sets out his vision for a democratic global society, where people network across national borders, make joint decisions and organize global elections.
The focus is on four concrete proposals for global coordination: introducing a kerosene tax; ensuring freedom of movement for all people; consistently phasing out fossil fuels; and establishing a new form of global public participation. It is an inspiring call to not wait for political structures, but to become part of a different world yourself.
Book presentation on September 23rd, 2025, at 7 p.m. at the EineWeltHaus Munich: Event information (in cooperation with medico international)
