27.+28.11.2025: Workshop “Contested Spaces of Democracy and Inclusion in European Universities”

On 27 and 28 November 2025, Dr Daniel Schumann and Prof. Kathrin Zippel, PhD, will host an international workshop on the topic of “Contested Spaces of Democracy and Inclusion in European Universities”

The workshop, funded by Una Europa, will address anti-democratic tendencies and their resonance in the European higher education landscape. The event will feature three keynote speeches by Prof. Dr. Jo-Anne Dillabough (University of Cambridge), Prof. Dr. Bjørn Stensaker (University of Oslo) and Prof. Dr. Mieke Verloo (Radboud University) and will include eleven presentations by researchers based in eight European countries.


Registration for the workshop is now closed. However, anyone interested is welcome to attend the public panel discussion ‘Guardians of Democracy and Inclusion? European Universities in Challenging Times’ on 27 November 2025, 6 to 7:30 pm at Henry-Ford-Bau (Garystr. 35, Lecture Hall B).
