The research unit Macrosociology is happy to welcome two new research associates

Dr. Stephan Dochow-Sondershaus and Dr. Giuseppe Pietrantuono will join the Institute as new postdoctoral researchers, assisting Céline Teney in the research unit Macrosociology.

Stephan Dochow-Sondershaus works as a postdoc in the project "Opinion Polarization on Identity Politics and Denationalization Issues: A Longitudinal Comparative Perspective" funded by the German Research Foundation (DFG). Previously, he investigated educational inequalities by ethnicity at the University of Bamberg. His PhD thesis is entitled „Longitudinal Perspectives on Ethnic Diversity and Social Cohesion: Mass Media, Neighborhoods and Residential Mobility”.

Giuseppe Pietrantuono is a postdoctoral researcher and lecturer at the research unit Macrosociology and offers the research placement „Research Designs for Causal Inference“ in the coming winter semester.

He also is a research affiliate of the Immigration Policy Lab at ETH Zurich. Previously, he was employed at University of Göttingen's Institute of Sociology and by the German Federal Office for Migration and Refugees (BAMF). He received his PhD from the University of Mannheim's Graduate School of Economic and Social Sciences and was a visiting scholar at the Berlin Social Science Center (WZB) and at the Department of Methodology at the London School of Economics (LSE). In his research, he focuses on Migration, Integration and Public Policy.
