Working title of the PhD Project: "Heated" epistemologies: Psycho-legal apparatuses in cases of domestic femicide in Greece
Panos Tsitsanoudis (he/him), is a doctoral researcher at the Institute of Social and Cultural Anthropology, Freie Universität Berlin, and a Board Member of the European Network of Psychological Anthropology (ENPA). He holds a degree in Psychology from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and a Master’s degree in Gender Studies from the Department of Social Anthropology and History at the University of the Aegean in Lesvos, Greece. His research interests range across psychoanalysis, critical psychology, and psychological anthropology, centering on the problematic of affect and emotion in contemporary social and political worlds. His doctoral project explores psycho-legal frameworks surrounding cases of domestic violence and femicide in Greece. Drawing on ethnographic, documentary, and archival data, it critically analyzes how psychological concepts are employed in courtroom negotiations and develops an interdisciplinary perspective on how psychological sciences and juridical institutions define the manifestations, causes, and responsibilities associated with domestic crimes.
