Juska Wendland works at the Finnish Broadcasting Company (Yle) as a music journalist and podcast host. He is known as a long-time pioneer of community-driven audio and a developer of audio innovations. Wendland has hosted electronic music shows on Friday nights for over 17 years.
Currently, Wendland is writing his doctoral dissertation at the University of Lapland on community formation in podcasts. His studies at Freie Universität support this dissertation work. His latest articles, “Building a Better Participatory Culture and Enhancing Sense of Community in Podcasts” and “Social Podcasting - Levels of Podcast Audience Participation,” have recently led him to speak at conferences in Athens and Reykjavik, as well as for various EBU member broadcasters.
