Middle East Research and Innovation Dialogue (MERID) und Euro-Mediterranean Network for Economic Studies (EMNES)

Middle East Research and Innovation Dialogue (MERID)

This three years’ project (2015-2017) seeks to boost existing collaboration in the fields of scientific research and innovation between the EU and Middle East countries while creating new channels and forging new links, especially with countries that are newcomers to EU cooperation. MERID’s ultimate goal is to employ Research and Innovation as channels for intercultural dialogue, understanding and reconciliation. It is a partnership between universities and research centres from Egypt, Iran, Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon, Palestine, United Kingdom, Germany, Belgium, Italy, Greece, Spain and Slovenia. The project is funded in the framework of the EU Horizon 2020 programme.

Euro-Mediterranean Network for Economic Studies (EMNES)

EMNES aims at providing a renewed vision for socio-economic development in the south Mediterranean countries, mainly focusing on employment creation, social inclusion, and sustainable development. A main objective of the EMNES network is to increase the capacity of research institutions and think-tanks on both sides of the Mediterranean in measuring and analysing trends and challenges in the region through collaborative research, joint publications, scientific meetings, annual conferences, workshops, and the publication of policy briefs, annual reports and books. The project’s duration is three years (2015-2017). It is funded by the EU with partners from Egypt, Jordan, Morocco, Tunisia, Germany, Belgium and Slovenia.
