As part of the ÖPR project "Journalism in European Societies" (JourEG) - funded by the Federal Foreign Office's programme to intensify the Eastern Partnership - university lecturers from Ukraine, Georgia and Germany meet with experienced journalists from Europe. The Institute of Journalism and Communication Studies (IfPuK) of Freie Universität Berlin welcomed a total of 15 participants to the three workshops in July, September, and November 2019, including participants from Yuri Fedkovych University in Chernivtsi, Ukraine, and Ivane-Dzhawachishvili University in Tbilisi, Georgia.

The participants gave lectures on conflict communication in the Ukraine, Georgia, and Germany and discussed ways to improve it in their respective countries. The basic aim of the project is to jointly develop new and up-to-date teaching materials for future journalists in the three countries. At the final meeting in mid-November, the written lectures and results from the previous workshops were summarised and bundled in a JourEG collection.
