Tamer Farag studierte "Massenkommunikation" (B. A.) an der Kairo Universität (Ägypten) sowie "Globale Kommunikation: Politik und Gesellschaft" (M. A.) an der Universität Erfurt. Im August 2022 schloss er sein Masterstudium ab und arbeitet seit Oktober 2022 als wissenschaftlicher Mitarbeiter im Forschungsprojekt „Media for Peace“ (M4P).
