Prof. Dr. Tanja A. Börzel ist Professorin für Politikwissenschaft und Inhaberin des Lehrstuhls für Europäische Integration an der Freien Universität Berlin. Sie promovierte 1999 am Europäischen Hochschulinstitut in Florenz, Italien. Prof. Dr. Tanja A. Börzel ist zudem Sprecherin des Exzellenzcluster "Contestation of the Liberal Script".

Ihre Forschungsinteressen und Lehrerfahrung liegen im Bereich der Governance-, Diffusions-  und vergleichenden Regionalismusforschung. Sie beschäftigt sich vor allem mit Fragen institutionellen Wandels als Folge der Europäisierung sowie der Diffusion europäischer Institutionen und Politikprogramme und Ideen inner- und außerhalb der Europäischen Union. Den letzgenanntem Aspekt verfolgt sie in iher aktuellen Forschung, in der sie sich mit Compliance von EU Normen und Regeln in EU-Mitgliedsstaaten, EU-Beitrittsländern und EU-Nachbarschaftsländern beschäftigt. Die neuesten Publikationen umfassen u.a.
